I like the flat look (to me the gradients aren’t pro-looking and are distracting), but I agree with all of your complaints – those in particular should go back to what they were because they only serve to make things more complicated to look at. The GUI hasn’t changed that much, but the things that I pointed out above just don’t look better, or as good as they should. I only started with Cubase at 9.5, so it’s not like this is an long-time user fighting against change. For me, looks-wise, this release is the step backwards. Just a lot of little things that visually haven’t gone well in this release and should be cleaned up or further improved upon IMO. Seems like the flat look to events is a pretty 50/50 proposition compared to the gradients in 10.0 so I’m not declaring that one an improvement or a regression, but that’s probably a good sign a preference should be implemented. The channel strip item names (bins) shown a few posts above have a huge ugly border around them.Audio Connection screen frame is now light gray, with white text to highlight the selected tab.
Should add intensity to the selected channel color.

Full color console strips are implemented in an ugly manner (I have Reaper themes that handle this much better).Colored Track labels gone - replaced with black, going against the idea of a full-color consoel strip.There have been quite a few visual regressions or just ugly design choices in this release: I’ve generally given Steinberg the benefit of the doubt, and actually think a lot of the recent GUI have been for the better…up until 10.5.
